1. What is Job Posting?
Job posting is a formal program for listing position vacancies, as they occur within
the hotel, so that current employees, if qualified, may apply for these available jobs.
2. What are the advantages of Job Posting?
a. It enables current employees to apply for available positions for the purpose of
salary advancement and/or skill development.
b. Encourages referral of new employees by current employees.
3. Where will the Job Posting bulletin board be located?
All Position Vacancies will be posted on or near the central employee bulletin board
and in the Human Resource Office. The position vacancies will remain posted for 72 hours.
4. Am I eligible to apply for the available positions? Yes, provided:
a. you have been employed a minimum of six (6) months for non-exempt positions, (the
six month employment requirement is waived for posting of supervisory and management
positions);
b. you receive a level II summary rating on your last review;
c. you possess the required skills/qualifications as outlined per each job on the
Position Vacancy sheet.
5. How do I apply?
a. Obtain Vacancy Application. Complete application, including obtaining the signature
of your present supervisor, and return to the Human Resource Office.
b. The Human Resource staff will advise you of eligibility and notify you to contact
the interviewing Department Head to schedule an interview.
c. The interviewing Department Head will notify all internal applicants of their status
after he/she has completed their interviewing.
6. Does this program guarantee that only in-house employees will be hired
into available jobs?
Not necessarily. The Department Head wants to hire the best candidate for the job. In
many cases, we hope this will be a current employee, but selection from outside the
company will still be necessary to remain fully staffed.
7. How will my new rate of pay be determined if transferred or promoted to
another job?
We have a specific scale for each position. When transferred or promoted, employees
start at the hire rate for the new position. Performance review dates are adjusted to the
transfer dates.
8. Will all positions in Boykin Hospitality be
posted?
No. Boykin reserves the right to appoint Managers without having to post
the opening. We anticipate that this situation will occur infrequently as it is the
intention of the Company to adhere to the posting policy as much as is feasible. However,
there are special occasions when due to specific circumstances it would not be prudent to
post certain positions.
Boykin is an Equal Opportunity
Employer committed to a diverse workforce. Boykin and its divisions
do not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of race, color,
religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, veteran status, sexual
preference or any other protected status as determined by local, state or
federal law.
